DAYTON OUTDOOR RECREATION INITIATIVE STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT

Principal Greg Brumitt had the opportunity to develop the vision, mission and strategy for Dayton, Ohio’s outdoor recreation initiative for Five Rivers MetroParks in 2005. He later founded the program and was its first manager and director. The initiative now in its eleventh year, has transformed Dayton, into an emerging outdoor destination. Working with many Dayton partners, the collaborative initiative has lead to two major community events, The Adventure Summit and The Midwest Outdoor Experience, and was a catalyst for significant bike friendly initiatives, and the development of many outdoor facilities including two whitewater parks, mountain bike and backpacking trail facilities. Today Dayton employs active lifestyle strategies as part of its development efforts. In 2015, Dayton earned an Honorable Mention in its Best Outdoor Town competition and was recently named the host of the 2017 International Trail Symposium. Watch More Here
